Absolute Beginners Silks w/ Mary ($42 each)

3 different days!

Prerequisites: None!

This class is designed for anyone and everyone who has never even laid hands on an aerial silk (or maybe played on one once or twice). This is a fun, safe and creative class to introduce you into the amazing world of aerial silks.

Mixed Level Lyra Workshop w/ Mica ($42)

Friday, 12/27 @ 6-7:30pm

Prerequisites: beginner-intermediate aerialists. (At least 1 series of aerial experience preferred). Some inversions, double knee hangs, assisted pull over, and mild spin practice.

Description: This is a beginner to intermediate sequencing workshop! Whether you’re newer to Lyra and want to put some moves together or you have experience and want to work on flow, this workshop is meant for you.

We will be working on putting together simple and intermediate moves to create a sequence with face and flow.

Suggestions: Wear snug fitting clothing to keep you from snagging on the equipment such as leggings or tight long pants and a comfortable top. Jewelry should be taken off before class starts to avoid equipment damage and pinching of your skin. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. 

Tippy Lyra Workshop- Tip into the New Year! w/ Amanda

Splits for All: Tips, Tricks & Drills for deepening splits of all levels

12/28 Saturday 10-11:30am w/ Karli
Cost: $42 for 1 Splits workshop or $75 for both of Karli’s workshops
Prerequisites: This is an All-Levels class — beginners to advanced, all are welcome!
Description: Whether you’re just starting your splits journey or looking to refine an advanced practice, this workshop is for you! Join Karli for a fun & supportive session packed with tips, tricks & drills to help deepen your splits at any level. You’ll learn effective techniques to increase flexibility, build strength, & safely explore your range of motion. After effectively warming up, we will dive into a blend of targeted stretches using active flexibility techniques, alignment cues, & modifications tailored to suit personal limitations.
Attire / Suggestions: Loose clothing (think stretchy yoga pants!); thick socks & knee pads can be helpful but are not required, as the studio will have additional props for support.

Aerial Chains Sampler

Sunday, 12/29 @ 1-2:30pm

Cost: $65

Prerequisites: beginner-intermediate aerialists (6 months aerial experience minimum), pull-over on sling, or lyra, or trapeze required. 

Description: Come one, come all, and experience the heavy metal apparatus that is aerial chains! In this workshop, we will explore a variety of entry level poses to condition your body to the chains, and we will research movement amongst the chains. 

Please contact Clarice (@steelestorm.aerial) with any questions or concerns regarding the course. 

Suggestions: Thick clothing (neoprene pants or sweatpants), thick socks or trapeze boots highly recommended. A pair of CLEAN shoes (not worn outside) with a very small heel (like a combat boot), can be helpful for this course.


Splits for Backbends

12/29 Sunday 10-11:30am w/ Karli
Cost: $42 for 1 Splits workshop or $75 for both of Karli’s workshops
Prerequisites: This is an intermediate to advanced-level class. However, while it’s not necessary to be completely flat in longitudinal (“front”) or transversal (“middle”) splits, students must be able to breathe comfortably / control their breath while exploring their edge.
Students must have foundational experience in splits &/or backbending training (experience with yoga backbending, such as Wheel pose, is sufficient!).
Description: Take your flexibility practice to the next level by combining splits with backbending techniques! This workshop focuses on safe & effective drills for deepening your splits, while incorporating elements of spinal extension & pelvic floor alignment/engagement.

Silks Drops Workshop w/ Coach Lyla ($42)

Friday, 1/3 @ 6-7:30pm

Prerequisites: Intermediate-advanced aerialists. Invert in air, single footlock in air, confident with catchers hang.

Description: Looking for an hour and a half of adrenaline rushes, stomach drops, and defying gravity? This workshop will explore a variety of drops, including slack drops, and forward and backward drops. Students will learn how to drop in safe ways while leaving audiences in awe.

Suggestions: Wear tight clothing and a shirt that covers the whole torso/can be tucked into pants (silk burns are not fun!). Avoid zippers, velcro, and jewelry as they can tear the silks. Bring a water bottle!

Silks Partner Tricks Workshop w/ Coach Lyla ($42)

Saturday, 1/4 @ 1:30-3pm

Prerequisites: Intermediate-advanced aerialists. Invert in air, double footlocks in air. Comfortable with scorpion and crossback straddle.

Description: Bring a friend or make new ones at this aerial silks partner tricks workshop! Students will learn to incorporate duo moves from scorpion, superloop/belay, crossback straddle, and more. We will focus on utilizing each partner’s strengths to gracefully collaborate on a single apparatus.

Suggestions: Wear tight clothing and avoid zippers, velcro, and jewelry as they can tear the silks. Bring a pair of thick socks and don’t forget a water bottle!
